All You Need to Know About Infinix Note 40 Series

The mobile phones giant, Infinix is set to launch a new series of mobile phones into the market with quality that is competitive with the likes of iPhone and Samsung. The Note 40 series from Infinix features impressive AMOLED displays with a refresh rate of 120Hz, most of which are curved. The cameras, with 108MP and OIS capabilities, are also a notable feature. Moreover, all models offer wired fast charging and are equipped with Infinix's latest magnetic wireless charging technology, which requires a specialized case.

The Infinix Note 40 series will be released worldwide by tomorrow, Tuesday, March 19. The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G version will have a starting price of $310, while the regular Pro 5G will cost $290. In terms of the 4G models, the Infinix Note 40 Pro will be priced at $260 and the vanilla Note 40 will be the most affordable option.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G is a highly advanced smartphone.

The Pro+ badge is making its debut on the first Infinix Note, although the Note 30 VIP held a similar position in the previous year. The Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G operates on the Dimensity 7020 processor, a 6nm chip containing two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It is coupled with a maximum of 12GB RAM, which has the potential to be increased with virtual RAM.

The front of the device features a 55° curved AMOLED display, boasting a 120Hz 10-bit panel and FHD+ resolution. It also has a peak brightness of 1,300 nits and utilizes 2,160Hz high frequency PWM dimming. The display is safeguarded by Gorilla Glass and a tempered glass protector is also provided by Infinix in the package.

The Pro+ comes with a triple camera setup featuring a main camera of 108MP with OIS and the ability to zoom up to 3 times within the sensor. However, it lacks the capability to record videos in 4K. The remaining two cameras are 2MP each and serve as helpers. Notably, the front-facing camera is a 32MP shooter.

Introducing the Cheetah X1, Infinix's inaugural power management chip developed in-house. This innovative chip is responsible for both charging and ensuring safety, with a remarkable capacity of 100W. The battery, which boasts a capacity of 4,500mAh, can reach a 50% charge in only 12 minutes and has a durability rating of 1,600 cycles. A mere 5 minutes of charging provides enough power for 3 hours of gaming or nearly 7 hours of video playback.

The device also supports wireless charging at a speed of 20W. While it may not be Qi 2 compatible, Infinix has created a unique magnetic charging setup known as "MagKit". This feature includes a wireless charger and a wireless power bank, and is compatible with or without a specially designed case. Additionally, the device also supports reverse wired and wireless charging.

You as well find Bypass Charging 2.0 useful, if you use phone for energy intensive tasks like gaming and coding. This feature delivers power directly to the motherboard, bypassing the battery. As a result, your phone can operate at a temperature 4.5°C lower, providing a cooler gaming experience.

The device includes a significant vapor chamber (measuring 3,753mm²) and a graphite sheet that, when used together, decrease the temperature of the chipset by 7°C. On the entertainment aspect, JBL stereo speakers are present that utilize x-axis haptic feedback to deliver a fully engaging experience.

The IP53 rating of the phone indicates that it is splash proof and capable of withstanding rain. It is available in two color options - Vintage Green and Obsidian Black. The Vintage Green variant features a green leatherette back with golden accents on the chassis and camera bump, while the Obsidian Black option replaces the leatherette with a black marble texture.

5G Infinix Note 40 Pro has 256GB Memory and Ultra-Processor

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G shares similarities with the Pro+ model, featuring a curved 6.78" 120Hz AMOLED display (FHD+), a Dimensity 7020 processor, and a 108MP primary camera. However, the absence of the "+" indicates that some features may have been reduced.

The device comes equipped with 8GB of RAM and an additional 8GB of virtual memory, while the storage capacity is 256GB (LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2). The charging feature has a limit of 45W when using a wire, but it still supports 20W wireless charging with MagKit compatibility. However, the battery capacity has been increased to 5,000mAh.

Similar to the Pro+, this device is a 5G smartphone with dual SIM capabilities, along with Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, it also includes NFC and an IR blaster.

Each of the three versions of the Note 40 Pro will be eligible for two operating system updates and three years of security patches, including the model discussed below. The Note 40 series will all be equipped with Infinix XOS 14, which is built on Android 14.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro

As stated in the highlights, the inclusion of a Helio G99 chipset in the Infinix Note 40 Pro results in the removal of 5G capability. Yet, this model retains the same amount of RAM as the Pro+ variant, with a total of 12GB consisting of 12GB physical and 12GB virtual. Additionally, it boasts faster wired charging with a 70W capacity compared to its 5G counterpart, while still maintaining 20W MagKit charging. This is all powered by a 5,000mAh battery.

The base model comes equipped with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and features a 6.78" 120Hz display with curved sides and Gorilla Glass Protection. Interestingly, this model has a slightly improved dust and water resistance rating of IP54. Similar to the Pro 5G, this model also offers the choice of Vintage Green with a leatherette cover, along with Titan Gold (the Pro+ is the only one available in Obsidian Black).

The Infinix Note 40

Although it does not have a "Pro" label, the Infinix Note 40 shares many similarities with the aforementioned model, with the main distinction being its flat display (which some may consider to be an improvement). The device still boasts a 6.78" FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED screen.

The Helio G99, along with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, serves as the driving force for this phone. It boasts a unique 108MP primary camera equipped with a 1/1.52" ISOCELL sensor, in contrast to the Note 40 Pro's use of a 1/1.67" sensor.
