WhatsApp Update Allows Users to Use Multiple Accounts
WhatsApp had announced plans to allow users to operate more than one account on one device. With the new update, the app users will be able to switch between two or multiple accounts on the platform. This announcement was made by Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and related social media companies.
The statement reads:
“We’re introducing the ability to be logged in to two WhatsApp accounts at the same time. Useful for switching accounts – like work and personal – now you don’t have to log out every time, carry two phones or worry about sending messages from the wrong place,” WhatsApp CEO stated in the post.

How to Access Multiple WhatsApp Accounts on One Phone
1. Use WhatsApp New Multiple Accounts Feature
The multiple accounts feature is currently undergoing tests on some Android devices. Although WhatsApp does not give full information about Android versions that support this feature, we have received reports that the double account is functional for those using WhatsApp Android beta. Therefore, if you are a WhatsApp Android beta user, you can test the feature and report any bug to the company for improvement.
Here is how to activate the new WhatsApp double-accounts feature on your phone:
- Download and install WhatsApp app on your phone from Google Play Store, if you do not have one.
- Open the WhatsApp app on your Android phone
- Click the three-dot menu and tap Settings
- Click the down arrow next to your profile name
- Add another mobile number to your WhatsApp account
- Follow the instructions to verify the number and start using another number with the same WhatsApp account
Note: The new double WhatsApp accounts feature is currently functional on WhatsApp beta version 2.23.21.12. However, the company says it will soon make the feature available to all Android devices and later to other WhatsApp-supporting gadgets including your PC.
2. Download Different WhatsApp Versions
You can also use multiple WhatsApp accounts on one device by downloading different WhatsApp versions. For instance, you can own WhatsApp business, GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Lite, and normal WhatsApp on one device.
Simply download those WhatsApp apps and dedicate each of the apps to your respective phone numbers. You can then connect with your friends and families across different accounts on one device.
Note: Multiple WhatsApp accounts require that you own multiple phone numbers as each account can only be dedicated to one phone number.
3. Download Dual Account Apps
There are a lot of applications on Play Store and other app stores that allow you to run multiple social media accounts and use double apps simultaneously. Examples of such apps are 2Account-Dual App Space, Multiple Account Clone App, Multi App, Multi-space, and many more. All these apps are mostly available to Android users. Just go to Google Play Store on your Android phone and search for them. While searching for these on Play Store, ensure that you remain security conscious to avoid malicious apps that can harm your device.
